A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typographical error. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited bulk emails, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also essential to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
Creating a catch-all email mailbox will be truly easy if you’ve got a Linux shared web hosting with us. You can enable this option through our powerful, yet easy-to-use Email Manager, which is included in the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the shared web hosting account itself. You’ll see all the mailboxes that you have created listed alphabetically and to the right of each one there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously let you know whether a certain mailbox gets all the email messages for a given domain or not. With one single click on the icon you can enable or disable this option at any moment. In case there is active email forwarding or in case a different mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a given domain name, you’ll get a warning from our system. The latter will not replace/disable anything automatically and without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all email address can be configured with several clicks of the mouse in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be administered through our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up email addresses using any domain registered there. To enable the catch-all feature for a mailbox, you will need to click the logo with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Disabling this functionality can be achieved in the same manner and will not take more than a click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a certain domain name, you’ll get a warning. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never modify or deactivate anything automatically.
